2011 China Carving Art Festival & Hui’an International Stone Carving Competition

The 15-day long 6th CCAF China Carving Art Festival kicked off  in southern Fujian’s Huian west coast of Taiwan Straits on September 25, 2011, sponsored by the Sculpture Professional Committee of China, Chinese Sculpture Magazine, Hui’an Caving Art Institute and Government of Hui’an County.

50 finalists were selected for the Stone Carving Competition from more than 600 designs and over 40 countries and regions. Now they are working on their stone with the help of their Huian stone carver assistant.

    Invitation to the 6th China (Hui’an) Carving Art Festival & International Stone Carving Competition

    6TH CCAF will be held in Hun’an of Fujian Province the 25th September to 9th October, 2011.

    Topic:
    Stone’s Whisper in Sea Wind

    Rule:
    1 The design must be original.
    2 The deadline for submitting your design is the 15th of August, 2011. The organizing committee will inform you in 7 business days if you are qualified to enter into the final held in Hui’an.
    3 The organizing committee will prepare stone material, electric and basic tools for every artist. You can bring your own if necessary.
    4 Each selected participant will have one assistant carver. You are also allowed to take your assistant, but to whom the organizer is not accountable.
    5 The organizing committee will pay the selected participant for the round trip for ecconomy class, the room and board fees happended here during the competition period.
    6 All the sculptures will be collected by the Organizing Committee. Artists keep the right of signature.

    Award:
    the 1st prize, ¥100,000
    the 2nd prize, ¥80,000
    the 3rd prize, ¥50,000

    The oversea participants who lose the competiton will be paid $3,000 for the sculpture collection fee. According to the Chinese law, 20% of the bonus or collection fee will be deducted from your total income in this activity as the personal income tax.

    I am so sorry but the competition has opened when I realize it this year. I wish next I would be more alert and publish the invitation in time then here, and another my blog in China http://hi.baidu.com/yaoleading, which you would like to give it a look. I am not so easy to get access to wordpress every time in mainland China.
